The painter of Amsterdam

Looking for a painter in Amsterdam? Then you've come to the right place. For both exterior and interior painting. We give you a good estimate of the cost of a painter and his painting work.

There is a lot of information about the cost of painters in Amsterdam. There is a difference between the cost of an interior painter and the cost of an exterior painter. The cost of an exterior painter is slightly more expensive than the cost of an interior painter. This is because an exterior painter has to use much different materials than an exterior painter. Interior paints are different from exterior paints. In addition, it depends on the weather conditions.

Cost interior painter

This is a cost estimate. The handyman will come to see what the condition of the existing home is. But the prices below give a good indication of the cost. Should it be an entire home or multiple homes we can provide a price.

Why a Handyman as a painter?

Besides painting there are always other jobs to do. And the handyman can take care of that too. Such as:

  • Plumbing
  • Ikea cabinets put together
  • Organizing and cleaning up
  • Tackling the garden

In addition, you will have the same painter/ handyman in your home all the time, which also gives you a little more privacy because we value the handyman's code of conduct.

Save on painting costs!

Of course, everyone wants to save on the painting job. Here are some tips that will help you save on costs.
  • Why not paint with the handymen? It saves time and money. And you can learn something from them.
  • Discuss well in advance the materials and paint to be used.
  • Of course, in consultation with the painter!

Report a painting job

* You can purchase your own materials. No problem. However, only and really only with the permission of the handyman. Otherwise he can never guarantee his work.

* The minimum commitment of our handyman is 4 hours. This is because an hour-long job requires much more from the handyman. He has to prepare, read up and bring the necessary materials. And 1 hour of chores for a handyman is not profitable for him or her. See below.

Please fill out our job request form as completely as possible. Completed with pictures and good description. We want the handyman to be as prepared as possible. This saves time and money and ambiguity.

Klusteam Amsterdam Painting Methodology

Assessing the painting work

Find out the extent of the paint work you are going to do. This is because that way you will know how long you are going to be busy and how much money you are going to have to spend. This is because you need to buy the right supplies and therefore need to know how much of what you need. Thus, think about determining interior painting and exterior painting, since for each type of paint job you are going to have to buy a different type of paint.

Making the right preparations

Making the right preparations is very important if you are going to do painting work. You are going to have to think about buying the correct paint materials and getting all the supplies in the house. Think of buying sandpaper, a brush, a roller, masking tape, a tarp and degreaser or detergent.

Perform repairs

If the surface you want to paint is not in good quality, then you are going to have to make repairs before you get started on the paint job. If the surface does feel in good condition, then you won't have to spend extra money and time on repairs.

Good cleaning

Always clean the surface thoroughly first by cleaning with water and a detergent and degreaser. This is because the surface must be completely free of dust and grease so that you can continue sanding after this.

Sanding the surface

The surface must be sanded very well so that the paint can begin to attach itself to the material. Make use of sandpaper or a sanding fleece. To what extent you should use coarse or fine sandpaper depends on the material of surface area.

Choose an appropriate type of paint

Make use of an appropriate type of paint when painting so you can be sure that the paint can adhere to the surface and you can enjoy a beautiful end result that will look great for years. Which type of paint you need also depends mainly on the material of the surface. The cost also varies greatly depending on which type of paint you choose for the paint job.

Using primer

In some cases, you're going to need to apply a primer before you start working with paint. This is because a primer makes for much better adhesion. If you use a 2-component paint, then you won't need a primer and you can start applying paint right away.

The right drying time

The paint you apply must dry properly before applying a new coat of paint. This applies not only to the paint, but also to the primer or primer that you apply. Between each coat, you need to respect the correct drying time. The drying time can vary by paint type and surface material, but generally you can assume an average drying time of 24 hours.

The finishing and completion

You can also opt for a special finish or coating after the paint has dried completely. This special coating can be applied in either a matte, gloss or high-gloss finish where the cost varies considerably. The surface does remain much better protected if you apply an additional coating.
